News from Dutch Embassy in Vietnam: Vietnam’s promising economic start of the year 2015

With an economic growth of 6.03% in the first quarter – well above the results in previous years – Vietnam’s economy looks poised to record faster economic growth in 2015.

While domestic demand is still modest and inflation reached a decade low of 0.74%, both export and disbursed FDI increased around 7%. Similarly, bilateral trade between the Netherlands and Vietnam continues to grow (35%), despite a lower export volume from the Netherlands to Vietnam. The Dutch are Vietnam’s second EU trading partner and third EU investor for this year’s first quarter.
